A floating lodge in a flooded forest. In high water the river is the street.

Why Terrae selected it

Uakari floats in a flooded forest in Mamirauá. In high water the river is the street. The lodge moves with the season instead of fighting it.

It was built with the communities of Brazil's first sustainable development reserve. Off-grid is hydrology, not a mood.

How life feels here

Experiences on site

The stay

You sleep on a floating deck that rises and falls with the flood. Days go out by canoe into flooded forest, then back for a meal on the water.

The white uakari monkey is the namesake. Sightings are not a guarantee. High water and low water are different stays.
