We stayed in the hills above Deshaies. Au Jardin des Colibris puts the rooms in the trees, ten minutes from Grande Anse, without turning the forest into a resort lawn.
Hummingbirds work the terraces. The cabins stay quiet. It holds Esprit Parc National and Palme Verte. That mix is rare in Guadeloupe.

Wooden cabins and bird-nest rooms with a kitchen open to the trees and an outdoor shower. A freshwater pool sits in the ferns. Breakfast is left at the foot of the cabin: fruit, local jam.

What to know
The ground is steep. The highest cabins mean timber stairs through vegetation. A rental car is the practical way to reach the coast. Nights are loud with frogs. That is the forest, not a fault.
