A lake lodge in the Cuyabeno, reached by canoe.
Why Terrae selected it
Cuyabeno Lodge sits on a lake inside the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve and is reached by canoe. The water is the path.
We include it because the arrival is the stay: blackwater creeks, and a deck the forest comes to.
How life feels here
Experiences on site
The stay
Cabins on the lake, mosquito nets, a hot shower after the canoe. Days go out on blackwater with a guide: dolphins, otters, caiman if the day allows.
A visit to a Siona community is part of the usual programme. Confirm what the current stay actually includes.

What to know
Terrae has not slept here. Editorial selection on partner documentation.
You reach the reserve from northern Ecuador, then continue by canoe. The lake stays wet most of the year. Wildlife does not follow the brochure.
